Syrian Children Need Our Help to Keep Warm!

Winter conditions make it harder for Syrians to live in their country, cities have been bombed and there are even children who have died of cold. It is estimated that 300,000 refugees will be living in refugee camps in 2014, with a further 1.2 million elsewhere in Turkey. Turkey currently hosts approximately 700,000 refugees. “It is so hard to keep the children warm and dry in the winter, we have no heating, we have just a few blankets and these clothes we are wearing,” said one young mother as she cuddled her three young children tightly to her.

Help us to keep these children warm, bring them a little comfort and show them we care.
Please consider making a square or two today. Any spare wool you have can be knitted / crocheted / woven into eight inch squares and then we'll stitch them all together into a blanket. Our blankets are lovingly sewn together from squares made by adults and children from all walks of life and many different countries around the world.

Every square is a hug from someone who cares!

Squares Needed: 8” x 8” (20 cm x 20 cm) Knitted or Crocheted or woven. (we will make good use of any size but 8'' is best)
Any Design, Any Colour, but Straight Edge please, weave in any ends but please leave a tail at the end to help us sew the squares together.
Acrylic if possible (or whatever you have in your stash!)
When sending squares could you please enclose:
Your Name & Your e-mail address so I can let you know I've received them.
