Knit/Crochet to Help Syrian Premature Babies.

Premature birth is an issue facing women of Syria that gets greater by the day.The number of premature babies born in Syria has skyrocketed from 19% of all births in 2011 to 45% in 2013. It is a difficult struggle for any mother, but through the war due to the added stress placed upon mothers, babies are often born extremely prematurely.
As soon as they are born, babies in Syria are facing an imminent death. Premature babies are dying in their incubators as a result of frequent electricity cuts. In one area, five newborns died this way in one day, according to a recent report. Newborn babies have to be kept warm but the unpredictability of power and as the cold winter months arrive it is more difficult to guarantee such conditions. That's why we ask you knit/crochet small hats, booties, cardigans and blankets to help give these premature babies a chance of survival.

Help us make a difference today!
