Bread For Syria

The denial of bread - has become a weapon of war!
Bakeries providing a lifeline to communities have become a regular target for air strikes. On a recent food drop our drivers and helpers found that most bakeries were damaged, while others have been forced to close down due to lack of supplies. At bakeries that have continued to operate, families queue up for hours in the hope of purchasing even a single bag of bread, and frequently return home empty-handed.
With the support of a group of Turkish business men in Istanbul we will start to repair a bakery in Syria. We hope to be able to supply bread to 3 villages, providing bread for around 1,400 families.

A family-sized pack of bread containing 8 large pieces, will be sold for approximately 15p per pack to help cover costs. For those who cannot afford this, it will be provided free of charge. The bread will be directly delivered by our team to the Syrian people, which will help to avoid the long queues that may otherwise draw attention from overhead aircraft.
The purchase of flour will constitute the greatest recurring cost associated with running the bakery and we need your support to ensure that we will be able to provide a regular supply of bread, and as the situation worsens and the demand for food grows and we are hope to meet the needs of as many as we can possibly reach with your support.

A donation of:
• £450 (755 USD) will buy an entire day’s supply of flour and provide bread for 3,000 families - in effect, a whole community.
• £150 (250 USD) will buy a tonne of flour and provide bread for 1,000 families.
• £5  (9 USD) will provide a family with bread for a month.

We need your support to ensure that we are able to provide this lifeline!
